This season sees the return of Damaris & Mimi Holliday to the show, and will be the first opportunity for visitors to view the new Black Label by Yes Master

Firstly there was the gorgeous Cosmopolitan Cover of Fearne Cotton wearing Modern Courtesan that has been putting a smile on our face all month!  Then we had the UK Lingerie Awards where we were fortunate enough, along with several of our favourite independents, to be recognised for contributions to our industry with category nominations.  It was a fabulous night and although sadly we didn't win our category, we enjoyed the celebrations with Lascivious, Made by Niki and Obey My Demand who topped their categories and left with some rather lovely awards!

24hours on and we launched our limited edition collaboration collections where we introduced exclusive sets of classics from Ell & Cee, Lascivious, Mint, MC Lounge & Yes Master and to say they have been well received is an understatement.  One of the garments was instantly snapped up by stylist for a Christmas cover shoot......more celebrity love?

Mid month we saw the boutique turn into a lovely Nichole de Carle dream for the day where they set-up their 24 press pop up and partied the night away with friends, press and the cast from the TV series Dirty Pretty Things, followed immediately afterwards by a full stock turnaround of AW11 collections which are stunning stunning stunning!

Now surely that should be it.....there couldn't possibly be any more wonderful news to report - well not for September perhaps, but it seems that October has started in exactly the same fashion, with another gorgeous Cosmopolitan cover!  Only this time it's the stunning Kelly Rowland looking amazing in a red silk bra from Modern Courtesan's sister brand MC Lounge....and a Modern Courtesan kitten body if you peak inside!

Does this mean we can expect the same fabulous amount of chaos this month too....we certainly hope so!

To mark our first VFNO event we will be launching some new exclusive collaborations with several of the amazing brands we have the please of working with. Amongst the exclusives will be a version of the Lascivious Belle Collection in a vibrant violet chiffon, Ell & Cee fringe bodies in black & Modern Courtesan Silk & Lace collection in vibrant violet silk.

This project marks another amazing step on our journey and being able to work with these brands is an honour and a delight!  The collections are limited editions with a maximum of 20 sets per collection, in some cases there are only 10.

Thursday's event runs from 1700hrs - 2100hrs at the boutique.  Champagne and canapés will be served and we look forward to welcoming our clients on what is sure to be a fantastic evening.

Traditional methods suggest you add 4 inches to the underbust measurement to get the correct band size, however we don't agree and as with many others believe that you should fit to the nearest even number - we have proven this to be a successful approach.  The lingerie industry has evolved so much and that perhaps has something to do with it, coupled with the broad range of different fabric types that are used in the fashion side of our industry as well as a shift in the perception of what women want from their bras.

We always start the fitting by asking what bra size the client is wearing and more often than not we can determine just from looking if they are in the right size.  The act of measuring helps us to establish the best bra size for our clients, and then most importantly (and most enjoyably we hope) comes the trying on!

It often surprises clients when the fit of bras and brands are inconsistent, but as we often suggest like with all fashion garments, different brands and styles will fit differently......because they are different!  It's the same with lingerie and especially true of the fashion brands where style and innovation has lead the creation process - add to the mix that our body shapes are all unique so what might work for one client won't necessarily work for another.

That's not an excuse for bad fitting garments, and fortunately for us all of the brands we have the pleasure of stocking and working with are actively improving the fit of their garments with each season that passes.  We are delighted to see that they are also taking a leading role in the industry where fit is concerned through the increased introduction of 30" back bras.

So many of our clients, and indeed women everywhere are very petite on the back and to date have had to put up with wearing 32 backs that give an insufficient amount of support - especially when so many of the 30 backs (or smaller) are cup size D+ - we like to use the belt analogy - if it's too loose don't expect it to hold anything up!

For those clients where the 30 back is not an option in a brand they want we also offer an alteration service as long as the style and aesthetic of the bra is not compromised - it's free of charge and provides our clients with the support they need, from the design they want.

With AW11 collections arriving daily we are delighted that we will soon be able to offer our clients smaller back bras not only from Miss Mandalay, who have definitely been leading this area of the market and have an amazing selection of small back bras with cups sizes up to a GG, but also from Dirty Pretty Things, Lascivious, MC Lounge, Modern Courtesan & Nichole de Carle.

Wearing a bra that really fits you and looks fabulous is just like wearing a dress that makes you feel amazing, or a pair of shoes that look gorgeous and fit like a silk slipper......we're thinking Laboutin, especially with our lingerie labels.  So if there is an inkling of doubt in your mind about the size of bra you are wearing, pop in and see us, get fitted, and have a wonderful time trying on some of our beautifully designed and excellent fitting bras!

Ex model Claire Merry who owns the brand, and is also known for being the ex-wife of international footballer Thierry Henry, will be meeting and greeting press and clients, talking about her experiences since launching Dirty Pretty Things, and telling us about what's in the plan for SS12.

Wednesday evening will see the DPT Team and friends turn Ganton Street in party central.  Rumor has it that both Pam Hogg and Lisa Moorish will be dj-ing, the very delicious Juiceology gents will be serving cocktails and let's face it, with the DPT team who knows what shenanigans will be going on!

A perfect event to officially kick off the summer on Ganton Street, we can't wait!

It’s been almost two months since we blogged and we have to say that we although we could be utterly ashamed of ourselves we are not….fact is we have just been too busy to blog!

Our wonderful team have been run of their toes since early April with a huge amount of fabulous activity including events, new products, promotions, press call-ins and now with our seasonal trade show just around the corner massive amounts of event planning.

So, even though our IT Director will hear none of it dismissing it all as an excuse, we firmly stand by our reasons, we will however endeavour to roll the past two months activity into one quick blog update.

Since our last communication, our video that we posted on Vimeo has received over 44,000 hits….yes, that rights, over 44,000!

Our boutique was featured in Grazia, with product placement for Miss Mandalay as part of the Carnaby Shopping Event which was held in May.  The evening was a huge success where cocktails flowed, the lovely team from Cucumba set up a nail bar and clients indulged in lingerie with an amazing 20% discount throughout the evening.

Perfectly timed for the event we received our new promotional barriers which have proved a huge success at keeping the lovely clients of our favourite neighbourhood pub The Shaston outside the pub rather than on our doorstep.

Thanks to the barriers we will shortly be launching Girls Only Zone where ladies and friends of the boutique are invited to join us on Thursday & Friday evenings, relax in our outdoor lounge area, enjoy a drink on us and be treated to various promotions and discounts.

We have received gorgeous new collections from Dirty Pretty Things, Ell & Cee, Lascivious, MC Lounge, Marlies Dekkers, Modern Courtesan & Miss Mandalay including some amazing bridal lingerie for all those gorgeous brides looking for something extra special.

A recent FHM shoot with a former Victoria’s Secret Angel will soon be appearing featuring at least three of the brands we are proud to stock which is hugely exciting and there is a rumour that one of them may even have made the cover.

Jessie J appeared on stage at BBC Radio 1s Big Weekend in a Bordelle dress - and tweeted about it afterwards!  Britney appeared in her new video wearing Bordelle and Marlies Dekkers, Rosie Huntington Whiteley appeared in GQ wearing Nichole de Carle and we hope to soon see the gorgeous Kelly Rowland with hints of Lingerie Collective Brands peeping out from some fabulous outfits on The X Factor!

So, there you have it friends, a quick summary of what’s been happening in Lingerie Collective world…although we plan on continuing to be too busy to blog, we do promise not to leave it so long next time!

In the showroom we had Bordelle, Kriss Soonik, Marlies Dekkers, Mint Siren, Modern Courtesan, MC Lounge & Yes Master - and along in Soho our friends at HPR were hosting their press days where Ell & Cee and Lascivious were also showing.

We were fortunate enough to welcome journalists from some of the worlds best titles including Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour, Harpers & Vogue as well as bloggers and stylists all with a love of lingerie!

Thanks to several very generous sponsors without whom the day and evening would not have been such a success, we were able to enjoy champagne, cocktails and delicious macaroons.

As the sun started to set, the atmosphere started to get electric as the wonderful DJ Basil complete with his set of bongos officially got the party started, and as the night sky fell we previewed our very own TLC video featuring the brands that has appeared at the press day....onto the Natmags building of all places!

The sun might not have come out to play but our three fabulous models sure did. All kitted out in ravishing red Modern Courtesan lingerie and armed with hula hoops and skipping rope the girls were ready to challenge any willing competitors. However when it comes to hula hooping and the limbo our models are more than up for the challenge. Apart from a rather flexible young Italian lady the girls remain undefeated!

We also had a lucky dip where there was chance to win a VIP discount card to spend at The Lingerie Collective boutique. We’re sure to be seeing those lucky ladies soon!

Many passers by were tempted inside to get a closer look and join us for drinks. To finish off the evening our models brought the boutiques window to life, putting on quite a show for the gathering crowd outside.

Then before we knew it SS11 collections were out and Valentines lust was upon us….and what a Valentines it was…..London town was smoking all over the weekend of 12/13/14 Feb! Valentines was shortly followed by the excitement of not just LFW but fashion weeks all over the world where we were able to ooh and aah over new collections and be inspired ready for new designs to ooze out of our imaginations for SS12.

If it sounds like it's been go, go, go it has, but in a wonderful way with nonstop excitement including the main focus of today's blog - PR! With everything that's been going on we haven't had a second to stop and express our appreciation and respect for all of the amazing press the independents we love so much have been receiving.

Since the start of the year we have seen Lascivious featured in Marie Claire, MC Lounge in US Playboy, Kriss Soonik in Time Out, Mint Siren in Ten Magazine and both Bordelle & Marlies Dekkers on Britney Spears….and these are to list but only a a few.

And so what?....you may be asking, what’s so important about that? Well dear friends, it’s really quite spectacular, that's so what!! These wonderful design led lingerie brands have been developed by passionate talented individuals who love what the do and do what they love, who are living their dreams and passions, and who are sharing their talents with the world to enjoy, and the world is enjoying them. The brands we love are not massive enterprises funded by large corporations and venture capitalists, they are independent, hard working, hugely talented designers with small but hugely dedicated teams who pour their hearts and souls into their craft and to recognised by the worlds media in the way they are is a credit to them all.

We love and salute you….and we promise not to take so long to recognise your continued achievements in future!
